The antecedent of a pronoun is the noun or another pronoun
for which the pronoun stands. When using pronouns, be
sure you are clear and be sure that your pronouns agree
with the nouns they replace. A pronoun agrees with its
antecedent in gender and number.

(Her agrees with Charis.)
. If you see my bag, please return it to me.
(It agrees with bag.)
. Tom and Stephen arrived early. They were given gifts.
(They agrees with Tom and Stephen.)
